This spring Ameriikan poijat received a second $6000 operating grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council in 2008. The money will be used for equipment, operating expenses, publication of more Finnish brass sheet music and recordings. Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council (SEMAC) is a regional arts council supported by the Minnesota State Arts board and the National Endowment for the Arts.

We soon will be publishing a series of original Finnish-American band compositions, written in the early 20th Century. They have been left unnoticed until Ameriikan poijat has started performing them recently. This sheet music will be available to all bands and instrumental musicians. Watch this site for further news.

2009-2010 is Ameriikan poijat's Twentieth Anniversary Year.
Special events are planned, including 2009 summer Finnish tour,

and a theater production with music and memories.
